Happy days are here again, the skies above are clear again" !
Yess Fiorucci (Elio Fiorucci) showed us a happy and very positive life.
Fiorucci is a way of living I heard recently, spoken in a Youtube video about the 70's.
I think it's true.
Fiorucci was not just fashion. It was the start of the chain of Fiorucci Stores, (New York, London etc) 'boutiques', they were called in those years.
An absolutely great and original concept ! Then. Talking about the 70's
Keith Haring painted the NY boutique for one fashion season. Bianca Jagger, Andy Warhol, Grace Jones, Klaus Nomi and many other celebs from the hip 'underground' art scene performed with- or for Fiorucci through the years.
And I'm proud to have given it a photography and art direction contribution in the 90's!
Here we start with showing "The Fiorucci Wonderland".
Covering the Fall-Winter 96-97 fashion collections.
The second catalogue and campaigns we did for Fiorucci.
It is a 'modern' (96 / 97) Alice in Wonderland story.
The story is built up as a computer game.
A young girls enters, driven by curiosity, into a digital dreamworld and has to achieve new levels in life.
(In 1995 the digital revolution had only just started when we made the catalogue in 1995)
There's only one model in the entire story. Sarah
She transformes from a schoolgirl into a young and sexy miss.
Of course all the Fiorucci ingredients are there.
The young girls dreamworld. A growing up process, sexuality and a slight tip of naughtiness with links to the 'fruits' of the hippy world.
Update: and there was a Fiorucci Perfume too!
